BBC TWO old programmes, old pres?

Why have there started with " Dear Sexy Knickers" and not the colour pilot?

The network has the white 1986-1991 Holding card just now plus a new flash Ident from the same era

I suppose it'd be too much to ask to see a 90s "2" ident in this mix...

Another Network 1979-85 holding card, and ident with Music...

The network 1986 symbol recreation was previously used for the 80s Season.

From memory, looks like Northern Ireland have updated the old still into their own animated recreation since the season - overall more accurate than network's version. It's been shown animating out rather than in (although maybe it does both...?) - nice to see the old 888 'ear' icon has been left in there.

Does anybody know why BBC NI have always gone the extra mile when it comes to pres?
