Odd mix of 16:9 and 4:3. The menu shown just before 15:15 was in proper 4:3 (not just 16:9 with black borders) followed by a 2013 promo in 16:9 and then the period ident also in 16:9. When Are You Being Served Started, it was shown in 4:3 but as if it had been stretched to 16:9 and then 4:3 centre cut out. This was corrected 7 minutes in. This was all on BBC Two England via DSAT.
Is it true that the classic pres is only lasting a week? Are the programmes disappearing after a week too?
Programmes are staying. hopeful BBC classic from the vaults will appear..
I wish programmes from the 1990s will air so that BBC2 can bring out the 1990s idents!
How about some of the robotic idents? (Don't particularly like all of them). Just by looking at iplayer, BBC2 are showing Flog It! from the start (2002).
Don't give them ideas! Let's not forget the BBC WON Wales and their much better version of the Life on Mars continuity than London and the other nations.
When did the nations start doing opt outs on BBC2?
When did the nations start doing opt outs on BBC2?
I certainly remember the announcement 'This is BBC 2 - for the Midlands' way back in the early 80s. As for the nations, more here - http://thetvroom.com/bbc-uk/bbc-2-07-05.html
Missed this today so cheers too, Cavan. Always great to see the old idents come out and effort with the slides too. Top marks to NI, and to Network for actually using/instigating it this time!
Just a shame the episodes aren't on iPlayer. I guess there are rights issues with playing old shows in the new digital world?
Does anyone know if these are sanitised versions of Allo Allo and Are You Being Served? Aren't there some episodes of the latter which the BBC rarely show?
