An exciting time to be in Scotland, I'd say!

I've gleaned from Twitter that Huw Edwards (BBC News), Lucy Hockings (BBC World News) and Hala Gorani (CNN International) are all in Edinburgh already, several days ahead of the vote.

And Alastair Stewart will be hosting the ITN programme on the day, although not sure if that's in London or Edinburgh.

The pace really has heated up in the last few days. As an overseas viewer, I can say that the amount of coverage this story is getting on the big global outlets is nothing short of incredible. (BBC World, CNNI, AJE)

The STV Group press release posted by GMc on this thread said that Scotland Decides, the STV result programme, would be broadcast across the ITV network.

Ah sorry it is the 1993 version - just not the 1993 opening. It actually sounds like a mix of the two. If there's a 1993 Opt Out then appears to be that - as it begins with that sort of sustaining loop sound, rather than going straight into the 93 close like the first file posted above.

Its not a mix of anything - It's the original as-is (I spoke with someone who knows).

It would be handy if we could get this cleared up. Are ITV taking the STV programme, or are they running their own ITN coverage?

I'm really hoping we get the STV programme.

Furthermore, MyDigiGuide lists GMB as having someone from Emmerdale come in for a chat the morning after (the episode STV are dropping) - with both ITV's and STV's breakfast shows extended to 10, one surely expects GMB will be basically continuing rolling coverage of the result?

If there was just one programme being produced for the entire network, you can be sure it would be ITN led. If STV are doing their own thing, you can also be sure it's up against ITN.

This doesn't mean that an agreement like STV also going out on ITV4 couldn't be made, or that the ITN programme won't feature segments from STV.

The news story being told in Scotland is going to be completely different to that being told in the rest of the UK, especially if the yes vote wins, sharing coverage is a silly idea.

Yup, that's what I meant. Sorry for any confusion, and thanks for the link.

I downloaded a zip of all of these themes at some point years ago - anyone know where that might've been hosted? Unfortunately my backing up regime before Dropbox was terrible/non-existant.

Scotland Decides
Alastair Stewart presents live coverage of the long-awaited Scottish independence referendum result, revealing whether Scotland has broken away from the rest of the UK, ending 300 years of union. The programme features all the crucial counts and expert analysis from ITV's political, business and economics editors - Tom Bradby, Joel Hills and Richard Edgar respectively, plus contributions by Chris Ship, James Mates, Martin Geissler and Debi Edward.

Did the BBC keep their Commonwealth Games shed for the coverage - sure that was mentioned here a while back.
