Sadly I've left STV already. I've found it very stuffy and dull and not very informative. I'm very sad ITV/ITN haven't bothered tonight as I bet I would be watching that programme. Alas I'm off to the BBC.

It would be a waste of money for ITV to commission an ITN programme to cover the result when it's more cost-effective to simulcast the STV coverage because it's not a UK-wide referendum. The identities of the presenters don't matter. The only thing that matters is that the coverage is accurate.

Here's how BBC World joined in at midnight.

Not impressed by STV so far - think ITV have made a huge mistake not running their own broadcast, not just down to STV names not being familar with the ITV audience but also I think a night like tonight needs somebody like Alastair Stewart who has the gravitas but is also quite relaxed and easy to watch. There is going to be a lot of padding over the next couple of hours especially and that takes some skill.

Aasmah Mir is hardly an unknown name to ITV's English audience.

Really surprised STV have included commercial breaks. Fair bit of STV branding going out on the network too, it's like we've gone back 25 years! That said, I've dipped in and out of STV and I'm just not feeling it. Not being massively impressed by Sky either so I'm going with the BBC, at least until GMB comes on.

STV usually have a couple of breaks to begin with, then they have uninterrupted coverage throughout the night.

again agreed, What else do you expect STV and ITV do for the next 7 hours..... NO results until 2am. Ad breaks, your not going to miss anything expect a fart in the wind?

Surely Clive Myrie could of presented the BBC One summaries tonight, being the duty news channel presenter. Why have they used Carole Walker?
