Anyone EMPHATICALLY defending or lambasting it now - from the very little we have seen - is a fool.

It's not that foolish to defend it. I actually really like not only what I've seen of the logo, but also of how it has been revealled. It's a proper brand launch and if everything is done as slick as this, there's no reason to doubt it could be phenomenally successful.

Hmm, well yes, but nothing but some blurry shots have been revealed yet.

It'll all be in the execution - though I fully agree thus far its execution has been good.

And for the record, I like it as well!

I think I like it too! Very Happy It's not really a lot different, It's like they have just pushed the words together and drop the box behind it.

No. That's not what it's like. That's not what it's like at all.

They'll probably just turn it white and put it on a black background for ITV News.

Talk about rash judgment. A few blurry photos in no form of context and you're already dismissing it and wanting another rebrand? Get real mate. Shocked

No, you get real. Had you read my post, you'd be aware that I was looking forward to another rebrand in a few years time to see how worse it can actually get. I'd love them to triump this one. If that's the logo, and I'm led to believe that it is, then I've seen enough to dismiss it quite safely.

A throwaway post and a cheap shot at ITV probably through rose tinted spectacles with a BBC logo on them.

I'm not remotely interested in BBC versus ITV crap. Sorry. It's not a TV geek sectarian thing. Nor is it a 'throwaway' post, whatever one of them is supposed to be. It's just a good old fashioned 'in my opinion' sort of post. You know, the sort of post you get on internet forums? The fact I've had to explain that depresses me even more than this new ITV logo.

As a static version, not too bad, the reality will come with the background and foreground colour palettes and any animation applied on screen. My vision is it animating embossed style from a neutral background, then being flooded in colour.

It's interesting, and like Channel 5, I reckon it'll all be down to execution. When I first saw it, I was shocked, and not in a good way, but it looks nice-ish in Physical form, from the Intsagram photo. Therefore, if the ideas use a physical logo, I reckon it could all be pulled off quite nicely. How they'll fit ITV News into this is a mystery to me.

I really don't see the mystery. It looks from the logo like it won't have a set colour pallette (I'm assuming the logo itself will animate, so not be blocks of colour), so choose the right shade and it will look fine for news - or they'll simply use a plain version in white.

I hold a tiny hope for a red, white and green ITV Wales version

I really like it. It looks quite adapable and in itself it looks like a symbol.

I think it will look OK with the news as well, it can just easily be coloured in black or another suitable block colour. I do think they'll have a bigger issue getting it to look right on ITV Sport.

Not as bad as I thought it would be probably sums up my opinion. It does seem a bit "This Morning" but I think it has to be all about the execution. Here's hoping for a varied, colourful set of idents appropriate for the programme it's introducing. And possibly lots of variations for seasons, themes and programmes.

The biggest concern to me is ITV News. It's hardly going to be shown as "itv news" all joined up so how it integrates with the name and titles will be interesting.

Wonder if they will bother acknowledging the ITV1 -> ITV change? "ITV isn't now more than just a TV channel"

All the whispers so far have suggested that the ITV News titles are the best thing from the package, so fingers crossed!
