The biggest concern to me is ITV News. It's hardly going to be shown as "itv news" all joined up so how it integrates with the name and titles will be interesting.
From a conversation I've had with an ITV News employee who has been shown the news ITV News branding, apparently it is more contemporary than what was on show this evening.

Blimey, that looks like a bad case of camera shake or chromatic abberation - I thought my eyes had gone skew-whiff.

It is definitely an evolution rather than revolution, although I don't think there is any great reason to have a revolution. I'm not sure how this will work with ITV News though.
Generally, I think it's an improvement, although would have preferred just a plain colour.
From the pics so far, nope I'll pass. It just for me doesn't work all joined up. The first I looks like a U for a start. Could definitely be better and I feel underwelmed by it. Was expecting better and something more radical.

Really like all the different variations of it in the DS article. Quite impressed all round really.
In terms of it adopting the same colours as its surroundings in the new idents, does that mean it will be transparent (like the Sky corporate logo) or am I missing the point?
Green for ITV Sport and 'Royal Blue' for ITV News.

this is keeping me up:
- ITV2 is to become the "home of infectious entertainment", with the sixth biggest channel in the UK getting a "hot red" version of the logo and red on-screen identify, including new idents and 'end boards'.
- ITV3 is to be positioned as the "keeper of ITV's treasured and timeless drama", with a new "midnight blue" logo and idents that feature stories told in shadow-puppet style animation inside glass bell jars.
- ITV4, which has previously struggled with its identity, will adopt a "slate grey" logo and become the "home of sport and cult classics", as well as a "man club". Channel promotion will include pub factoids - such as "One in ten children in Europe are conceived on an Ikea bed" - and idents featuring viewer nominated "dreams come true", such as driving a Rolls Royce into a swimming pool.
- CITV will get a yellowy-orange logo and playful idents that "burp and fart, and do other things kids love"

From what I understand, someone at ITV will have the ability to pick the colour of each section, and will pick colours that relate to a particular programme. Ie greens and browns for I'm A Celeb.

Indeed, but digital channels will have set colours.
This sounds a bit too complicated for me and I can see them giving up on the variations after six months.
