Don’t wanting to sound stupid, but can I ask why would they fragment a mega brand into separate smaller companies? For tax purposes?

It's just a way of keeping the creatives who run these companies within ITV. The MD of Potato was one of the people who created The Chase, he wanted to run his own label so rather than lose him to a rival company they allowed him to create a label wholly owned by ITV which he would run and have creative control over. It's also got its own office in Waterloo so it's completely separate from any other ITV company, has its own way of working etc. - again all to suit the wants of the talent who runs the company.

It's also in ITV's interests to have competing internal companies because it just means everyone works harder to come up with more and better ideas which ITV can then sell internationally. All of the other big production companies; Banijay, Fremantle, All3Media etc. all work the same way with multiple labels.

In terms of Lifted, this is probably a case of the allowing the MD to have her own stamp. They've been suggesting that they'd be getting a new brand for years now, not sure why it's only happened now.

I wonder why there isn't a separate Jeff Pope Productions, I know the label within ITV Studios is essentially that but creating an actual production company would allow ITV Studios to have a stake in Jeff Pope's film projects.

Noticed something while watching Family Guy on ITV2. The DOG has been moved a awkward spot when they show it on a 4:3 ratio.

Good. We've got to start removing the SD/HD simulcasting

ITV Studios Entertainment has been rebranded as Lifted Entertainment (no, I’m not sure what that means either)

The reason behind 'Lifted' seems pretty obvious to me

ITV’s gameshow Moneyball has been delayed after the cannon that is supposed to shoot the balls didn’t work:

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/14393699/ian-wright-itv-game-show-moneyball-delayed/

Apparently it didn’t work during rehearsals, then when they got contestants in to film the first episode...it still didn’t work. So they sent everyone home and have delayed production until later in the year.

This was supposed to be on this Spring, so not sure what will replace it in the schedules. Bit of a nightmare as that’s a hole on Saturday nights at pretty short notice.

How embarassing. Do we know anything about the format of Moneyball? I spotted this on Instagram from a TV set designer which (to me) looks like the set for something called Moneyball. He said it didn't get made but presumably this was a set they pitched for it.

I’m not entirely sure it is embarrassing, if it want for Covid and the lack of BGT it wouldn’t be a story as it wouldn’t be due to air for about 6 months after filming. Worse would be actually making a show and then realising it’s impossible to win, like Gordon Ramsey’s Bank Balance!

Masked Dancer is supposedly being stripped across a week but I think it would be much more useful once a week on Saturdays. I assume only the celeb Beat the Chasers episodes will air on Saturdays with the main series stripped again, but it is still an option I guess.

They haven't filmed The Masked Dancer yet so it's not going to be able to fill in in April.
