NBC News, MSNBC, ABC News and others from across the pond

You really think the BBC or ITV would delegate producing network bulletins to different regional newsrooms on a week by week basis? It's one thing bringing in regional presenters to cover, but quite another to send the bulletin on tour.

I would imagine they would decamp to a secondary site if for some reason NBH was out of the question - probably Salford or Birmingham if Westminster wasn't able to be used.

Given the current situation you would rule nothing out. I absolutely agree the BBC would choose a second site in similar circumstances, but for ITV to not put all the pressure on one region rotating the weekend bulletins might make more sense, especially when you need to remember in this situation somewhere would be having to do the weekday bulletins too.

It does remain to be seen how long this goes on for over at CBS as you would think they'd cycle through the same handful of stations rather than going through all their affiliates, but it does seem as an organisation they are putting staffing concerns above the continuity of having it from the same affiliate, or small number of affiliates, every week.

If this does continue, CBS will not go too far down the chain. I would imagine they would cycle thru a select number of top tier affiliates. They still have not even used the CBS O&O in Chicago. They certainly wont go thru all their hundreds of affiliates. Apparently WCBS-NY has moved back home, so I dont how much longer this will go on.

Also noticed the ABC News app has vanished from Roku boxes and the channel store in the UK over the last few days, which is disapointing as I watched it a fair bit. They must have decided to geoblock the app, though the video stream of the ABC News Live channel through their website still works in the UK.

By the way, Jonathan Karl of ABC News has appeared on NBC-owned MSNBC again. I won't pretend to know what's in these correspondents' contracts that would prevent or discourage it, but isn't it odd that he appears on rival networks for a direct interview?

Katty Kay of BBC World News often appears on MSNBC's Morning Joe as a commentator.

Kay's role is fine as I wouldn't think of BBC World News exactly as a rival to MSNBC. ABC News is a quite different.

Karl was on partly to promote his book but he was asked about his views today's news for quite a bit of time.

That happens fairly often, Emily Maitlis was in virtually the same situation when she appeared on GMB to promote her book.

If they came on to literally just promote the book, it would be a very short interview indeed.

I’ve seen other ABC persons on Morning Joe such as Cokie Roberts. I imagine the key thing would be is if they’re on air on a similar show at the same time - such as Jonathan Karl appearing on Today while GMA is on air.

I've been watching the CBS Evening News quite a lot recently and actually quite liking it. Norah O'Donnell comes across quite likeable as well.

How has it been doing ratings wise against Nightly News and World News Tonight since it moved to Washington?
