It does seem like a carbon copy of ITV News's Rundown - made specifically for Instagram and Snapchat but probably likely gaining an audience on Facebook to start with to get it out there.
It could be a clever move, getting younger generations interested in the news that closer to them. It's just up to the news outlets to come up with news stories across the regions that would be interesting for 18-24 year olds.
The 06:27 Points West bulletin mistakenly showed a South Today weather forecast.
I'm sure that the weather in Shoreham-by-Sea is of great interest to viewers in Minehead...
No acknowledgement / apology regarding the error from the PW bulletin presenter afterwards, despite there being enough time for her to need to pad-out the very end of the bulletin with some waffle about nothing in particular.
West / South West / South share the same Plymouth Weather Hub presenter for Breakfast forecasts, who was correctly name-checked & thanked by the Points West presenter both before and after the forecast.
I wonder if they all got muddled up? Maybe Spotlight viewers got our forecast, and South Today viewers got the SW & CI forecast (or something)?

I've seen both West and SW forecasts mistakenly shown on South Today
Colleague of mine many years ago worked for an ITV company. He couldn't find the tape with that night's weather forecast to play out, so he grabbed the tape from the night before...
No one wrote or phoned in to complain

This evening's ITV News West Country bulletin was presented from a dimly-lit corner of the newsroom, with a few deserted desks behind the presenter. Single locked-off camera shot throughout.
A bank of screens mounted on the wall (3 columns, 2 rows) were showing the usual recorded backdrop of the Clifton Suspension Bridge (twice over - once above, once below). Presumably, the "Plymouth" edition was the same but with the Tamar Bridges backdrop?

I wonder why they weren't in the studio?
Technical work and installing of new equipment/lights etc would see them moved into temporary studio for the weekend I am sure.
West Country came from the Bristol Newsroom on Saturday.
Again, most likely technical work on the main studio over the weekend. Perfect time for them, as there are only two small weekend bulletins of local news on ITV.

It's usual to have a technical 'freeze' over Christmas, it normally kicks in with broadcaters about now. Don't be surprised if it's something low or zero tech, such as a spring clean of the studio and set!
