My theory was a swap of desks with Cardiff (Old Broadcasting House), they still use the desk for Politics West. I wonder if they are moving the old Cardiff set into Studio A and Points West is temporarily moving to Studio B for a few weeks. The Desk could be going to B while changing A to new set. from memory B only has a sofa and small table on a green screen.

I take it that big space where the points west desk used to be will just be left empty?

The sofa has been in use since the start of the pandemic. the desk could go to Norwich haha

Why would Norwich want a desk pretty much identical to the one they used to have?

I presume it has been removed for a reason. Maybe a remodel now Points West is solo anchored?

Let's hope so, the current set has been on screen for years! 😁

I think it’s been a decade exactly this month actually. They had a temporary set up between December and March for the current set to be put into place.

Seems crazy to think that Chris Vacher was still presenting Points West from this set by the time he retired and he left nearly ten years ago.

Does Bristol have a Studio B of any size?

Studio B is basically a converted office, only really used for breakfast, contingency and recording. The original Studio B was demolished in 1986

This gives you the size of B https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186220-d2734521-Reviews-or20-BBC_Broadcasting_House_Bristol_Tour-Bristol_England.html#photos;aggregationId=&albumid=&filter=3&ff=243181616

I've a feeling B might also be used for demos during the public tours. It's been many years since I last did one, but some of that picture does ring some vague bells.

Yep, the desk has gone. Presentation, for part of the show last night, was done with the presenter stood the former desk area with graphics shown on the screen on the side wall.

I hope they recycle it some how it’s in perfectly good shape

Why would they recycle it? It's in a style that stopped being used on the national news over 8 years ago.
