Apprantley Mastricht is the favorite - through it is quite isolated within the Netherlands (lots of people would stay in Beligum and Germany) and is possibly too known for political reasons only.

Everything you say is a load of guff! Conjecture, opinion etc presented as fact.

The bidding process doesn’t open for a while. Sit and and wait on it instead of making up a load of rubbish just to try and sound knowledgeable.

Evidence that Maastricht is ‘the favourite’? And a Eurovision blog doesn’t really cut the mustard. They’re just click bait desperately looking for readers for the next six months when nothing happens.

And at the end of the day, it'll go to the city which has the most suitable venue that is available for the amount of time needed to stage the contest.

It's all very well the mayor of a village saying they're desperate to hold the contest, if the only venue they've got is the village hall and that hosts a knitting club on Tuesdays, they're not going to win, even if they've competed 100% of the bid information already.

Until all the bids are in, any information published is just conjecture from the marketing boards of the various cities and should be taken with very large grains of salt.

It's a race between Amsterdam and Venice to which city eventually puts off enough tourists that they will want more again.

Would this kind of format be worth a shot if the BBC can get a half decent act to participate, with the focus then being on the song and it being a song writing comp.

Perfectly pleasant, and has a few charming corners and quirky bits of architecture. You can get the Eurostar direct from London too.

This thread seems like a good place to mention a programme that Eurovision fans might like to set their PVRs for. Saturday night, 9.50pm, on BBC Scotland.
