I'm sure they asked the same question last year and all it resulted in was another series or two of Chase and Pointless, followed months later by the purchase of Ronnie Corbett's Small Talk and the most recent Robot Wars series. Small Talk was previously shown in 2008 according to Wiki so it certainly isn't 'new' to the channel.
I'm surprised they don't make more use of the Sky catalogue, considering they probably don't have to pay too much more for it than when it was originally made (Blockbusters being the exception of course being made by Central for Sky in 1994 so they probably had to go back to ITV for that). Duck Quacks Don't Echo could be a better choice for Challenge or the copious gameshows they used to air.
Duck Quacks Don’t Echo is a great shout actually. It could do for Challenge what Taskmaster does for Dave.
I wonder if Challenge could potentionally have the rights to the gameshows Sky One showed in the 80s or 90s? Would be interesting to dig them out.
In fact what about the rights to Challenge's old gameshows, like the version of Sale Of The Century they did with Keith Chegwin? In fact they made a fair bit of stuff in the early 00s, like variations on the Telly Addicts format (Soap, Celeb and Sport Addicts- Bradley Walsh did the latter, and they like to push the Chase and his series of Wheel of Fortune). Family Catchphrase was shown endlessly overnight at one point a few years back too.
Has Duck Quacks ended now on Sky One? Seems the last original episode was 2017 but Sky have done it before where something seems to be dropped and then spontaneously turns up as a Christmas Special a year or two later more often than not followed by a new series. Mind you the same was said about Not Going Out which couldn't decide whether it wanted to end or not.

Hasn't Not Going Out had about 3 "final" episodes now? The first time it was axed in 2009, the wedding episode, and the episode where they were held hostage in a department store were all "final" episodes, yet it kept coming back after. At this rate it will be like Last Of The Summer Wine and still be going in 20 years.

Sky One used to be a hotbed for American imports with the odd "original" commission but it was nowhere on the scale of the amount of money Sky now pours into original commissions for their series of channels. I don't know what they spend compared to the likes of ITV but after one year of bumping up the subscription fees they suddenly decided they needed to justify the price rises to the packages by highlighting this new stuff and they've done that every year since.

I made a post a while back on the Facebook wall (when they a) had a wall and b) when they actually paid any attention to what you wrote on it) about the ill-fated third series of Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year Old and it emerged they actually had the rights to it "forever". Presumably the rest of the Sky material (not necessarily the Challenge stuff if it was made under a previous owner) is the same.
I’d like to see a Word in your Ear with Gordon Burns, Trivial Pursuit with Tony Slattery, Teen Win Lose or Draw with Darren Day, Spellbound with Paul Coia, and Motormouth if they know where the TVS archive is and show it in a Challenge Late strand.

Paul Coia siad Spellbound has never been broadcast on Challenge..
Do you think Challenge are being serious when they ask what shows people want to see, or is it just to generate discussion and likes etc on Facebook etc? As they didn't take our views with any gravitas last year despite asking the same question? What are the chances of seeing Treasure Hunt and Knightmare any time in 2019??
Motormouth ain't gonna happen. Wiped (apparently) in 2010 (according to a Lost Episodes post) and there's no paperwork anyway. The Mousetrap segment was quite good though.
Challenge said before they wanted Run The Risk (or Double Dare, whichever one it was) but it was only available as part of the entire Saturday morning show it came from for whatever reason but one of the shows was extracted and repeated separately but that was as far as the discussion got.
Teen Win Lose or Draw, according to UKGameshows was made for GMTV of all broadcasters and probably wasn't as good as you remember it.
Maybe Challenge could look at something like Whose Line Is It Anyway?, which has been rehashed in the US again and seems to be successful, using most of the line up from the Drew Carey years. I am surprised nearly twenty years later this relatively simple (and presumably cheap) format has not been tried again over here.

I think challenge are, but people need to remember the channel has to cover its cost and generate new money to get shows. People hate The Chase, pointless or even WTTBAM, but there rate so well for the channel, which helps pay for other shows. I do wish there would repeat 1994 Blockbuster series again.

Belongs to STV, who of course had shares in GMTV at the time.
