France Télévisions recently relaunched their VOD tv service as France.TV. The only real change to the service is that VOD is now 1024x576.
There's also the French version of TV Player called Molotov, which offers all of the FTA TNT channels and subscription channels, excluding the CANAL+ channels, which may explain why CANAL have their own IPTV/VOD service.

Interesting that they would name a TV streaming service after a Stalin-era Soviet Foreign Minister.
For those who may be interested in what former Télématin presenter William Leymergie is doing since leaving France 2, he now presents a lunchtime show on Canal+ owned C8 called William á Midi.
Likely to have been swept up in the same clear out that got shut of David Pujadas (and others) but given his age, gave France Televisions a suitable amount of wriggle, in the nature of his leaving.
I must say, I was expecting rather more changes to Tele Matin than we've seen (apart from Laurent not walking around the studio-nothing else has changed), in the post-Leymergie era.
I know William was more than just the host (executive producer or similar, I think) - the concept was his baby, and based heavly on BBC Breakfast Time and TV-am, but once out of the door I though new set, graphics and a few new faces and a shake-up of the running order would have been introduced...
..like UK tv breakfast shows, it looks like the French have learnt our lesson. Fiddle around with an established breakfast show at your peril.
It won't be a surprise that William's new show on C8 is basically Télématin at lunchtime.
He has a new group of columnists who do a one on one with him discussing various topics, such as cinema, fashion, health etc. There is also a longer form news bulletin, compared to what was on before, with a CNEWS presenter discussing the news stories with him.

It's a cocktail.
Which is named after... guess who! Anyway, I don't think naming a streaming video service after an improvised incendiary device makes any more sense, but that's just me.
With the death of Johnny Hallyday, who was a massive rock star in the Francophone world, French channels have scrapped schedules for 'hommages'
During prime time, TF1, France 2, M6, C8 and CSTAR all had tributes or old concerts. As soon as the news channels went live, they've had non-stop rolling coverage (The news broke at 3am local time) with LCI and BFMTV going on-air at 0400.
Daytime has also seen special editions of the news on the main channels.
But he's just a celeb, not a politician or royal. Wouldn't a tribute programme be sufficient? Doesn't matter how popular he was, that's not worthy enough to pre-empt everything for rolling news.

Tell that to UKTV, certain personalities/'celebs' of importance have a schedule on stand by.
