Well to be frank, this is a Sky News thread, your pathetic diatribe for BBC News 24 has no place here. And how do you think that throwing in a couple of expletives and capital letters helps your argument ? It makes you look of incredibly low intellect.

Is she the only Northern Correspondent?

No - there's also Mike McCarthy and Paul Harrison.

I wonder if SKYnews have any plans to cememorate their 15th Birthday on the 5th February?

They celebrated their 10th birthday, and with these new graphics and idents on the way, they will be able to change the text on the idents from 'over 10 years' to 'more than 15 years'

There are a fair few Sky correspondents for the North of England, and bureaux in Manchester and either Leeds or Newcastle (possibly all three).

On the subject of correspondents and their locations - this whole India bureau is a bit of a puzzle. Is it the case that they are just shutting down the Beijing office and moving things to New Delhi, or are they actually going to appoint a new Beijing correspondent? You would've assumed that as one correspondent left Beijing, a new one would have been put in place, but so far there has been no sign of that.

Would be a bit of a stupid move to just leave the place vacant.

Press Gazette's report on Bestic's appointment as India correspondent said "the vacancy in Beijing will be advertised in the near future". But that was in November.

SKYnews have not announced a date, but there is still talk of January. I believe that there are some problems with the idents, with the graphics now complete.

All speculation... but they are due to announce a date soon as far as media-bullet are concerned.

Why don't you just call them Sky News? As pedantic as it may seem, the frustration of seeing SKYnews here everyday is bottling up at a worrying rate.

Hmm Id never seen the 10 year celebration broadcast before. There was a little bit of a problem with the audio when SN launched. Penny Smith said "Your watching the World News from Sky Television, News every hour on the hour", then her co-presenter (cant remember his name ?) started reading the 1st story about some dodgy Russian Count's plans for an organ transplant service (nice tabloid-esque start there !) and the sound went all to pot....brave decision though to really "go live" on launch night when everyone was hoping they would mess up....!
