Sky News Australia have got new opening titles

Pictures at Sky News Centre

Seems to be based a bit on the recent 15 years of Breaking News promo in the UK. Looks quite good, will be interesting to see if Sky News UK gets simular titles tommorow or whenever.

Their studio is quite nice, but it's minus a newsroom!

Looks great, better than I was expecting and I can imagine it working alot better with the current music than the titles at the moment, too.

Hopefully we'll see our version on screen tommorrow, then.

EDIT: Apparently it was timed to coincide with the Foxtel Digital launch, as talked about in this topic, with their own Sky News Active and a familiar remote control:

ANOTHER EDIT: They have video on the site now, and it does look good. Noticed that, as well as the time zones and latitude degrees revolving around, where the red light shines down on the globe, place names faintly appear.

I am impressed, they are georgeous, if a bit dark for the programme ident. (after the headlines) Also I like to see the logo uses the Darker blue rather than the light blue on the current ones, always stood out against the 2d logo.

It seems a bit more polished and more minimal than the current idents, which as nice as they are, do seem a bit messy because of the detailing on the globes.

Edit: The SKYnews australia website has relaunched also http://www.skynews.com.au

Am liking those titles a lot. A real hark back to the old days in reality - the flying times and latitudes/longitudes and the red and blue flying across the globe.

Also, the formation of the Sky News logo is a bit more like the original 2D one they had - but have made it look a lot better...especially the colour burst at the end. I wonder if they'll bring back the fly through the centre of the logo now? Laughing

Also Sky News Australia's graphics are lovely...but they need something other than the font they're using. Can they not use the current Sky News font for the astons? They would look tons better. The text on the graphics feels a bit cheap and light at the moment.

I wonder if any of our resident SKYnews insiders could drop the hint if this is what we should expect in the UK.

Tsk...you've abandoned your whole belief system. I used to mock you but at least I respected you.

If this has been mentioned, sorry!

I've just popped into News Active and there seems to have been a slight change. The clock seems a little different and only exists on the main screen - if you go into any of the 8 screens, the clock disappears. Maybe this is some kind of preperation for tomorrow if there are to be any graphics changes in Sky News Active? Or maybe not.

I dont notice anything different myself...
