I too noticed that the 11th-17th listings were out today, TV Choice andTV Q had Corrie covers so I got TV Choice. The woman in the shop asked me if I realised it was listings for the following week, she said its confusing and people have been complaining they have bought the wrong issue.

You can't tell some people. Even though the dates are listed in big letters along the top. It's the old nanny state again 'People might be confused so lets not put the magazines out'. I've seen people take TV Choice up to the counter and then realise they actually buy What's on TV

Can you confirm about News 24 being on BBC Two instead of BBC One? Or are both BBC One & Two showing it, or is BBC One showing it, and BBC Two closes down???

Says alot about Christmas TV when the biggest concern in this thread is whether both BBC1 and BBC2 will be screening News 24 at 3am in the morning!

I agree Brekkieboy! if everyone is worried about programmes that are being shown when 90% of the population are tucked up in bed going bye byes, then the BBC's Christmas Daytime/Evening schedules must be fantastic!

Why would the BBC waste films during the early hours when they would get bigger audiences during the day. I think it is OK to show a movie at 1am and then go to bed at 2.30, but I wouldn't stay up and watch another one after that. So if they want to put News 24 on both channels (or on one channel and let the other close down at 3am) then let them! Bless 'em they can't win with their schedules can they?

Hi Steve, well I agree and disagree there. I agree that in the early hours of the morning it doesn't really matter what is shown on both BBC1 and BBC2 and BBC1 this Christmas is very close to being a 24 hour schedule everyday. But BBC2 is closing down as early as 1am some nights which I feel is cutting the schedule too short. BBC2 of old would show an old film to end the day or even repeats of Red Dwarf or TOTP2 (like last Christmas) until 2am or 2.30am.
That probably sounds like I'm moaning there and to be honest I'm not really bothered about the overnight schedules either, but to compare BBC2 with the other terrestrial channels which are all 24 hour, BBC2 is still a little behind the times.
I'm not ranting there, but the way I see it is they show The Learning Zone from 2am until 6am every day of the week, why not treat us to a few films or programmes instead over the Christmas break to fill the gap.

You probably know already, but for most nights, BBC TWO are showing News 24 up until BBC ONE begin their overnight simulcast, and after that, BBC TWO closes down for the night, with no Learning Zone programmes.

And for Jez, there's an hour-long Emmerdale, either an hour-long or two episodes of Corrie, and Midsomer Murders on ITV on Christmas night, and Ministry of Mayhem WILL be on Christmas morning but no CD:UK, and, unbelieveably, NO Bond film - a repeat of Goodbye Mr Chips from 2002 follows The Queen.

The Christmas double issues were all available today at least in Huddersfield so the "Available Tuesday 7th December or even sooner " applies again this year.

Whilst you're all busy picking the terrestrial schedules to threads. Thought I'd take a look at what the wider multi-channel world has to offer on the big day. Here's some Christmas Day highlights

E4
Friends Day (no really ?) Yes back to back Friends 2.30pm - 11pm.

UKTV Documentary
Wall to wall Animal Hospital from 9am - 8pm.

UKTV Style
Spend all Christmas Day with Perma-tanned David Dickinson and then an evening of Flog It !

Sky Travel
Airline Day, with brief interludes for Sky Travel Shop. Fab.

UKTV Bright Ideas
Fab Pads from 10:30am - Close

FTN
Imaginative line-up of two hours of Thomas Cook TV followed by back to back Bob and Margaret 8pm - midnight.

They're really spoiling us this year.

Thanks for that, im not suprised they have an hour long Emmerdale, even though the provisional schedules said it would be 1/2 hour. I hope its not boring though, I dont want to be in a coma by the time the big 1 hour Corrie starts! Boxing Day's Corrie should also be good as thats when Karen leaves.

I can reveal that in the week leading up to Christmas, there are lots of ITV regional variations, many of the local series are Christmas themed (YTV have carols and Christmas music from Leeds, HTV Wales (I know, it's ITV1 Wales but we still call it HTV Wales here!) have good old Arfon Haines Davies taking a look at Christmasses past); and UTV's news staff have a long holiday,

Indeed. From Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd there's regional programming at 5.30pm!. First time that slot has been regional for ages.
Even stranger on Christmas Eve that slot moves to 11.05am. What a bizzare time to have a regional programme, and if ITV1 do wait until Christmas Eve to start showing their idents, its first showing would be before a regional variation!.
Make the best of it though as there's no non-news regional programming during the second week. Your Regional News Magazine Review of the Year doesn't seem to be scheduled either, unless its on Sunday 2nd January 2005 which is actually quite likely
