The full Christmas schedule for BBC2 can be found now at the BBC Press Office website. Overall, BBC2 is looking very impressive this Christmas with repeats of the Christmas Special's of Porridge and Some Mothers Do Ave Em and also a feast of big films old and new showing Smile

They seem to be repeating alot of this year's programmes again during the fortnight. for instance "grumpy Old Women" on 21st december is repeated on Christmas Day. top of the Pops on Christmas Eve is repeated again on Christmas Eve. sure, there are lots of classic films which is great news, but not alot of money has really spent on this year's BBC2 schedule, it's like they're saying "Don't Watch Us, Watch BBC1, they need the ratings more". BBC2 Christmas schedules have been better, but there are some good shows though. One thing, after a long delay, Fresh Prince of Bel Air is back. NOT AGAIN PLEASE!!!!!!!

If those schedules are final, it looks like that over the christmas period, that bbc 1 will close down after its last program at night, & BBC Two will carry News 24 instead of the usual BBC One, as it lists N24 as a programme at the end of the day on the BBC Two Xmas Release, but NOT the BBC One Xmas release
Is this correct?!?

I don't think that is right surely, BBC1 closing down and BBC2 showing News 24 overnight.
I really do think the BBC are way behind the times here. ITV, Channel 4 and Five are all 24 hours, yet the BBC still can't think of anything to show overnight, so they closedown.
In the 1980's this was the norm, but nowadays you would have thought the schedulers at the BBC would have treated us to a little something extra with it being Christmas.
I agree that BBC2's schedule for xmas could have been better. My personal best BBC2 Christmas schedule was back in 2000. That was a wonderfull schedule, full of old films and documentaries, it was brilliant. But this year is better than the last two year's I think.
I'm also not impressed that BBC1 are showing 3 hours of Breakfast every morning over Christmas. The BBC must be obsessed with this programme. There would be outrage if ITV or Channel 4 would show as much morning news coverage as the BBC I'm sure.

As final as they are for now; barring any late schedule changes what you see in the magazines should more or less what you see on TV this Christmas!

I can reveal that in the week leading up to Christmas, there are lots of ITV regional variations, many of the local series are Christmas themed (YTV have carols and Christmas music from Leeds, HTV Wales (I know, it's ITV1 Wales but we still call it HTV Wales here!) have good old Arfon Haines Davies taking a look at Christmasses past); and UTV's news staff have a long holiday, no UTV Live from 6.30pm on Christmas Eve until 6.30pm on Wednesday 29th! Can you confirm about News 24 being on BBC Two instead of BBC One? Or are both BBC One & Two showing it, or is BBC One showing it, and BBC Two closes down???

Listings for 11-17 December hit the shelves today although of the 2 WHSmith's in Bradford, one of them didn't put them out to avoid confusion.

The listings for 18-31 December say "Out Tuesday 7th December or even sooner ", so it might actually be Monday or even Saturday!

I know that the double issue of Whats on TV is an Eastenders cover, all I can do is Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes sorry I wont be buying it, Suranne should have been on that cover, she is much more important than anyone from DepressionEnders. Rolling Eyes

I too noticed that the 11th-17th listings were out today, TV Choice andTV Q had Corrie covers so I got TV Choice. The woman in the shop asked me if I realised it was listings for the following week, she said its confusing and people have been complaining they have bought the wrong issue.

It always says in the magazine "Tuesday or even sooner" for the Xmas Double issues but many shops last year wouldnt let me have the double issue even on the Tuesday as they were in the store rooms rather than on the shelves, they dont put the out too early.
