I was going to mention that but thought no one would know what I was on about. Sadly it hasn't aged well..
Indeed, it hasn't. To be honest, it doesn't look like the animation was particularly high quality to begin with. That said, I loved it at the time and have always thought it'd make a great reboot, certainly if the Japanese got a hold of it. We all know how much they like their robots.
Is there any reason as to why, after Thames lost their franchise, that Citv fell out of favour with Cosgrove Hall (even after it was bought by Anglia TV before becoming part of Granada Group who eventually closed it down after becoming ITVplc) - as they only seem to make a couple of series of Avenger Penguins and Victor & Hugo (which was a spin off from Count Duckula which that itself was a spin off from Dangermouse) - also wasn't Truckers a Cosgrove Hall production.
I just hope the new Cosgrove Hall Fitzpatrick company becomes successful, just like its predecessors did.
Friday Download back this Friday (yes back to a Friday!) with some changes.
Seems like they are going for a scrambled flat style studio which seems to be in studio 7? the old daybreak studio.
New presenters, No audience and now only 30 mins long starting at an early time of 4:55pm.
The show needed looking at as it was going stale but I not sure this is it. Will have to see it go out. The show has never match the peak of series 2. Think CBBC needs to look as something new like saturday morning TV.
Molly Rainford -
Finalist singer on BGT 2012
Anaïs Gallagher -

Harvey Cantwell -
well known on Twitter & Youtube
Akai Osei -
won 'Got To Dance' 2010
Leondre Devries -

Charlie Lenehan -
from Bars & Melody
They all have previously been a 'stand-in' presenter for the show and now are main presenters.
What will they do when the Friday Download movie comes out this Summer? They have already finished filming with the old presenters. The movie will almost certainly bomb anyway.
I really don't like the new presenters (especially the Bars and Melody people), I am going to stop watching.
Firstly it hasn't aired yet, and secondly it's natural in kids shows for the presenters to change every few years, especially if they're kids or young adults themselves. Think most of the original hosts are now over 18, and the point of the show is that it's not hosted by adults.

Being a child myself, I would much rather have the older presenters.
At the moment, I prefer Citv. Though, the CBBC Dangermouse reboot looks nice.
I'm looking forward to the Horrible Histories movie 'Bill' made by BBC Films.
Bit off-topic, but I actually wouldn't mind seeing that either. CBBC did a Magna Carter HH special a few months back which could almost have been a backdoor pilot to see how well the show might go down without the main stars (albeit with Ben Miller taking the Very Special Guest slot), most of whom have moved on to other things (like Yonderland on Sky, which is great). It was alright, but it's not really Horrible Histories without Bob Hale.
Seems like the prerequisite to be a host seems to be an appearance on a talent show or a famous family member.
I'm sure the original presenters were all established actors/presenters
Not quite. Out of the original six, only two up to the first series of FD had been on anything outside of the CBBC staple - Ceallach Spellman (Waterloo Road) and Tyger Drew-Honey (Outnumbered and guest artist on Armstrong & Miller). Two others were established CBBC stars (Richard Wisker - one of the hundreds of Tracey Beaker spinoffs - and Georgia Lock - Sadie J), another was a finalist on BGT (Aidan Davis) and one (Dionne Bromfield) was a singer.
