New logo for 2016 - out with the green (September 2014)

The new music is ok on the idents, But it get's really annoying really fast. The new idents will date far worse than the old. There is one ident with the current Newsround logo which will be out of date in less than a month. CBBC needs a proper new look! The new idents are not the worst I have seen but all the info boards are awful and ugly. Overall not really ovally impressed by the new look and hope something proper will come very soon! (which it won't)


Hopefully this could just be a bit of a makeover until next year, a bit like what Newsround has done this year, updating in January and again next month.

The idents could be better if they were slower, although I do like how the logo runs towards the screen and the show/broom cupboard immediately starts.

The beds in the background of the broom cupboard are annoying, the old one was much better. Shame a copy of it has never surfaced.

Personally I think that the animations are not too bad, and a good different take on the older theme. I think the problem is the music. I think they would be improved with the old music instead.

Looks like Newsround refresh launches on 13th October.

On a side note and not sure if this interest anyone but CBBC are moving Friday Download new series to a Saturday. Starting on the 4th at 10am keeping it's name. Not sure if this is to maybe kick start Saturday mornings again or to try improve ratings or because there no room on a Friday ? But I thought it was interesting to share.

That's dumb. If it's premiering on Saturday morning instead of being a repeat from Friday afternoon, then it should be called SATURDAY Download!

I can't check if it's just for one week but I think it's for the full series. I guess they not renamed because Friday Download is a brand. Believe it or not but they are making a friday Download Movie. Crazy!

They main point I was making is the fact that the big Friday show has moved back to a Saturday. TMI moved in 2010/11? to a Friday and from then on they made a big thing about Fridays.

On a side note TMI is 10x better than Friday Download. Maybe it's me getting old but FD is just so boring. No fun or energy at all.

I think Sam and Mark were always natural presenters for that kind of show, in the same way Ant and Dec were for SMTV. I think TMi would have been more successful in a different time - but at that point, 2006, Saturday morning TV was already fading out.

I know this is random but Blue Peter was good and fun today. They had Dick and Dom with other CBBC faces in the studio to break a record (which they did) for shaving foam beards. At the end it all went crazy like it did in da bungalow with foam going everywhere. Just reminded me how much it's a shame that there is no saturday morning tv anymore.

There is Saturday Morning TV with Scrambled on Citv.
