Carole Madge has left Spotlight.

On Monday BBC South Today has a phone video call from a Carol Madge trapped at Portsmouth waiting for a ferry to France. I think it was the same person, she was very verbose, articulate and fluid, so not your normal DIY 'vox-pop'

So the end of an another Channel Television partnership! I had a chuckle the other week when I heard Jenny Kirk reporting on Look East. It made me remember her days at Channel with Kevin Owen at the helm together.

Do Channel presenters in recent years at least tend to be from the mainland?

A rare reference to “ITV News Channel” there!

EDIT: I've now discovered that is what's used as the profile photo on Facebook and Twitter.

On Facebook, they're called "ITV Channel TV", and on Twitter they're called "ITV News Channel TV", with the handle @ITVChannelTV

So much for consistency!

It looks like, sadly, Andy Breare has also departed from BBC South West. A post on his Twitter from before Christmas.

They even occasionally still called themselves Channel Television on Screen. As a lot of staff working at the station (including the management) are the same staff from the days of regional identities, they clearly don't want to let the name go.

It's probably more that it's a problematic name - is it ITV News Channel or ITV News, Channel. It needs the word Islands really
