Why does this feel like a Sky take on N6 when the BBC News Channel still came from TVC? Three big video walls surrounding a desk with nothing else going on.

I am slightly biased but I think overall it looks good, and it's good there's now consistency between the two studios at Osterley (21 and 6) and Millbank. The two City studios (2 and 3) are now the style exceptions, but we're not seeing those sets at the moment due to Ian King doing his show from home.

There’s two city studios? I seen Sam Washington presenting Ian King Live from the business studio the other week.

Yes. Studio Three is shared with CNBC (sets at different ends of the studio so they cannot use the same studio at the same time) and Studio Two is used when CNBC is on air in Studio Three.

You can see the Sky News set on the left at 2:07:

What a disappointment. It looked somehow promising from Kay's Instagram previews, like it would be a decent mixture of live newsroom view and big screens. In reality it's Kay standing surrounded by 3 washed out screens. How tragic....

That's a third studio revamp that ends up a major disappointment for Sky News now.

Sarah Hewson in Osterley standing at a big screen, doing a two-way with Ashish Joshi in Westminster who’s also standing at an almost identical big screen in an almost identical studio

A show that feels to me that it’s lacking a title. They seem to not want to call it the ‘Sarah Jane Mee Show’ while she’s on maternity leave, which of course makes sense, so at TOH it was “Sky News with Sarah Hewson”.

How about "The Sarah, Not Me, Show"?

Generally speaking if you're calling a programme "The [Insert Name Here] Show" there is a failure in your branding somewhere.

From what I saw of the Kay Burley programme, it's another functional set which could easily come from Osterley using the CSO backdrop.

Hopefully if and when Sky finally change the on-screen graphics, it may all make sense.

Still, the half cut sofas don't look like they've been purchased from IKEA, unlike the ones previously used in the Glass Box.

Seems to work well in America. <tv show> with <somebody> immediately followed by "Hello, <somebody>'s off tonight, I'm <somebody else>".

My thoughts on the new set
- Has lots of potential.
- The half-cut sofas don't look good IMO - they should be either replaced by the desk or a standard sofa.
- Not too fussed about the background, maybe if they made it a little clearer for KB it would be good but it was fine for AOP. Possibly for KB they could take the focus off Parliament and maybe have a GMB-style shot of London, however that would take away from the 'only breakfast show in Westminster' branding.
- The newsroom view needs to be utilized more - it's a really decent background to have in a shot.
- I'd like to see how they're going to use this for next year's elections - as I said, it has a lot of potential.

That's the point though - those shows generally have names and aren't just named after the presenter. Although suffixed by the presenters name despite all the changes the CBS Evening News is still the CBS Evening News - and that's the brand, even if they do have the "with the presenter who isn't actually here" suffix.

I can't think of any program on US ''news channels'' that uses SHOW as part of its title.

Just cut the faff and call it “The Sarah Show” and therefore no need to change the name on Fridays or during maternity leave. And find someone else called Sarah to cover if neither are available!

I agree though “The xxx show” is a lazy title. Sounds like a radio title or budget entertainment programme. I’m also not a particular fan of the 7am programme now being “Kay Burley” either with not title as such, I dread to think of what the introduction will be next time Kay’s off.

While I think a good presenter can bring a lot to these strands, the fact we’ve had weeks of Niall Patterson doing just as probing interviews at breakfast and Sarah Hewson doing a grand job on the afternoon slot when Kay and now Sarah-Jane aren’t available; in my option means these slots are better placed with generic names and if needs be add “with xxx” when the main host is present, in the vain of the New Hour stand when Mark Austin is present.

Here is the opening of Kay Burley on Sky News from TV Newsroom.

If you were watching Politics Live on BBC Two from Millbank; it probably look more tolerable to see that in action rather than watching Kay Burley's new programme from Sky News. If you see it in HD; would the white lighting effects coming from the set look more brighter on your screens than expected?
