New BBC Singapore studio

I thought that splitting it from the main thread might be nice... (July 2015)

Here's a preview of thee new look for Newsday from London - I did wonder why the lightboxes above and below the screens in the new Singapore studio were a light blue. Not sure about the colour combination but the new London view looks very nice.

Isn't that the same London backdrop the BBC uses for BBC London News?

Don't think so, the sky looks different.

Set looks brand new with the use of different colour!
Nice to see them change it up a bit with something different, shows how versatile that set can be with a different background. Don't they use a green/blue colour on the lighting on business live opposed to the normal blue?

What about Business Live? Is it an evening version of that skyline?

I really like the new graphics. Anyword what's powering them on the video wall?

SDI into blackmagic SDI-HDMI converters. The SDI comes in off 4 auxes on the Ross vision mixer.

The graphics themselves are video loops played out via ffmbc, Ubuntu linux and blackmagic drivers using some in-house software, which has played out ABR for years.

Ps apologies for Sharanjit's piece tomorrow - they left it rather late in the day to film it so the view isn't particularly good. Bloody promos.

On the plus side I built the new look market boards today.

Is that what powers the 103" at NBH as well?

I wouldn't bring this up but since you mentioned you built the new market boards why is it that there's a 15 minute data delay on quotes? Here in the US all the stock quotes and averages on TV are real time and from what I understand CNBC Europe is as well.

No promo on Newsday or ABR this hour. Just a brief mention of the move at the end of ABR.

Someone pointed out this PTZ camera a while back while it was sitting on top of a ladder. I guess this is what they'll be using for some of those moving catwalk style shots that are seen at NBH. I'm curious are there other types of this camera through out the studio and how many cameras total?

Those tiny Panasonic PTZ cameras produce pictures as good as those big hard and soft type of camera's that are used in studios. CNBC uses five of them at their studio on the floor of the NYSE and you can't even see a difference in PQ between their studio and the floor.
