Rather than a pan of the newsroom we got a static shot of the weather at 10AM. Was this done on purpose because of the top story or was it a mistake?

If it was intentional, it was a good effect! Yesterday, on all three national bulletins, we had static shots of the newsroom, without it zooming towards the studio.

Well the plasma says 'Monday' on it so I think it wasn't planned and just hadn't been reset to prepare for the titles shot following the hand over to the weather before the TOTH

As I recall a friend telling me, the 6.30 opening sequences is now live because both London and ITV News share the same studio and control room. However, I'm fairly sure the others are still pre-recorded. And I wouldn't be surprised if bits and pieces like precoms and postcoms are still pre-recorded on some occasions. I will find out.....

Tanya having problems with her camera as well, whilst she's sat at the World news desk. Camera decided to move away from her and give us a lovely image of the London backdrop on its own. It is a nice backdrop, mind you. The sun was shining!

Merry Christmas, CK!

Thanks itsrobert unfortunately due to the horrendous weather I am not taking chances and moving that dish all the way to 24.5w which is where ITV Newsnet(its not called ITN anymore as it turns out)is but the last time i saw it they were preparing for the 6:30 and it wasnt live but this was a year ago now.

Just seen an overhead camera shot during the papers this evening (much like we used to see in N6 with the paper copy print out on the studio desk). I watch the papers quite regularly and don't believe I've seen it used since the move to BH.

I've seen it once before and it was because they had only just got the paper in question, with Martine Croxall making a joke about going back to old technology.

I never seem to catch these moments, what I happening before this shot? Is it a report?

To me this is a sequence the cameras do to get ready for the National News. So is this a case of settings of height/timing the fault?
