9 o'clock headlines advert for the 10 o'clock news came from a newsroom balcony, or greenscreen of it, with fiona bruce. Is that weird? I thought it was!
I thought there was a convention in news reports that certain people never had to have a strap showing their name. I'm sure this used to apply to people such as the US President, the Prime Minister and the Queen etc.
However, I was surprised to see one for Charles during a report on climate this afternoon.
I seem to remember that it applies universally to The Queen, but the rest (the Prime Minister, the US President, etc.) vary between domestic and World News.
The first edition of 'Election Today' with Annita McVeigh started this morning at half 8.
Also featuring an outing of the big plasma screen on the weather balcony where Christian Fraser is presenting election data. After not seeing very much of him, it seems Christian has more of an important role on the channel.

Branded as the 'Election Hub'.
Nick Higham's also out in the newsroom presenting graphics from a smaller screen on what looks like the second floor.
Very nice graphics for Today and Tonight, although the studio being lit red, and the running ticker just makes it feel like another BBC News bulletin.
It's a shame that the 2010 theme has been reused. After consistently reusing it during Local elections and By-elections you'd think they'd develop a new tune, indeed it's a shame Arthur couldn't be used considering it's Dimble's last one. We may get a surprise though.
