BBC Wales stating that from Monday they will no longer supply a news update during Breakfast.

Is this a nationwide change or just a temporary BBC Wales situation?

It'll probably be national then ?

Midlands today said the same.

Makes sense for the regional newsrooms, though removes a break every half hour for the Breakfast team.

I'd guess GMB will follow suit.

As did Look North Yorks & Lincs. I can see why, there is no traffic & Travel and probably fewer viewers for half the bulletins.

I guess it also makes Red Bee's job easier, no variable time opt outs during Breakfast, to punch up the Red Screen of Death caption on BBC 1HD. The programme is now just a single 3 hour event ?

I suppose one of the main reasons people watch the regional news at breakfast is for travel news... and there's little of that.

It presumably helps out the nations too, their directors don't need to be in until after Breakfast, or even later.

Yes, although I think the Glasgow's news gallery can opt 'a lá' the English regions, without the need to tie up the playout/pres control room ? (As it's all HD there ?)

If you say so Wink

I imagine that could be the next staff efficiency though, no 'nations' output until lunchtime

It makes sense not having local news during Breakfast. There's literally nothing going on locally other than how you're dealing with the virus.
Brekkie and SuperSajuuk gave kudos

How feasible would it be for network to only put out trails during the morning for programmes that are also going out at the same time in all three nations?
