BBC Breakfast - 16th July onwards

I like most of it, but WHY is the title clock in Serif? It just looks bad. If they used Sans for the title clock, it'd be really good. But apart from that, I like it a lot.

Personally I think the serif numerals look a lot better than sans, but it's all subjective.

The weighting looks fine on screen and of all the network shows this has the best intro. Agree though the clock should be orange and also the BBC News box on the titles.

Not sure why they are not using the same position and styling for the Breakfast Clock, of the News Channel clock

The feel of Breakfast is visually in keeping with the News channel despite its orange/red palette and separate brand; locators, lower thirds and name straps are all the same, so having the clock in the same position seems sensible.

But the font size is bigger how do you explain that?

Just noticed that the Business slide that they use when Steph McGovern / Ben Thompson deliver business news sitting at the small desk to the side of the studio is still in the old style Gill Sans.

EDIT: the one at around 06:50 was the old style Gill Sans; the one that appeared half an hour later was Reith.

It was centre aligned not matching the official logo which is left aligned.

A heavier weight of Reith Sans for the main logo would have looked better IMO, although it does look slightly better on screen. The clock would look better in orange too, the red box tends to blend in with the sofa.

Looks to be some technical issues this morning. No graphics are appearing on screen.

EDIT: 6:16 and the opener clock briefly appeared on screen.

EDIT 2: Temporary clock in place. Other graphics still failing to appear.

EDIT 3: 6:40 and normal order has been restored.

At 0637 the temporary clock was removed

During Sport the pictures from text was shown in white - perhaps burned in by Sport?
At 0640 graphics all returned.

The Sky EPG doesn’t have BBC Breakfast included today. Still shows as being on Joins BBC News.
