Might boost the ratings Very Happy

In the case of the news channel I think they would feel that junking the channel might lead to criticism that they’re wasting money.

As much as I hate to say it, I really don’t see the point of the BBC News Channel anymore.

The thing is that the BBC wouldn’t want hand rolling news domination to Sky, Aljazeera etc.

Why not? Other news channels exist so the BBC has to have one? Should they be running an porno channel too?

When I think of the BBC I think of Mary Berry. So thanks. Thanks for putting that image in my mind. Consider it regifted. Wink

Many on TVF would only watch it to figure out the rota.

Just have one BBC news channel. Fully merge it with BBC World News once and for all. And call it BBC News, with opt outs for UK news updates during commercial breaks. They simulcast so much now anyway.

Put the current domestic channel out of its misery! I find it unreliable and slow.
An example is that the same couple of stories show as 'breaking' in red on the flipper for hours after they have broken. It often feels like there isn't any staff working on it or paying attention or caring about the channel.

Watching the domestic channel when it's not simulcasting with World, it often feels like it is a burden and hassle for them and that they think not many people will watching it anyway.

Does Breakfast no longer include a regional bulletin at 0757?

I've also noticed since regional bulletins returned the national forecast has moved to :10 rather than :15/:17. The downside seems to be the news belt is now 10 minutes or less and today appears to cover two stories only.

would be good if someone recreated those titles in HD

They had a little montage of the last 20 years this morning.

Slightly poor taste, perhaps, to include a clip of Cuba Gooding Jr. forcibly hugging Charlie and Louise, given that he's currently under indictment for sexual abuse and 30 women have accused him of unwanted sexual touching.

To be fair, the person who put the package together probably wasn't aware, not major news

Conversely as the package presumably wasn't produced in a hurry minutes before Tx, it might have been prudent to have bunged the name of each of the participants into Google as a first line check as to their current 'status' ?
