Sorry I misunderstood, I thought AlexS was inferring that there's never been a regional opt out around 9am at all, not just before 9am.

Did the News Channel stay with Breakfast right through until 09:05 this morning or did the News at 9 crash in at 09:00?

Ah the BBC Breakfast perfected awkward opt remains 😃. Seriously though that works.

I thought I heard Look East day at 0730 ish that they would be back in an hour so it was clearly planned. Why though?

I seem to remember BBC Scotland's 9am opt used to keep the headline bed running throughout - it was definitely brief.

They should aknowledge it by saying 'and this is where we leave viewers on BBC News. You've been watching breakfast' [opt out] 'and for viewers on BBC1 here are the latest headlines'

They should aknowledge it by saying 'and this is where we leave viewers on BBC News. You've been watching breakfast' [opt out] 'and for viewers on BBC1 here are the latest headlines'

Or something along those lines

But the percentage of viewers watching on the news channel is far lower than BBC1 so they aren't going to be mentioned

Why not? Other news channels exist so the BBC has to have one? Should they be running an porno channel too?
