I'm not liking the look of the beta homepage. Apart from the improved header navigation, it seems to be a backwards step in my mind.
The "feature" box is smaller than the current one, as well as being an odd size - long and thin, and having less options (3 instead of 4). It also looks too close to the header, especially when an iPlayer vid is embedded.
As well as the news and sport headlines being the only ones with pictures, it seems odd. I'd much rather they stuck with the current configuration below the header.
Shame the clock has gone, too.
It also reminds me of the ghastly final bbc.co.uk era when shown in the default blue!
(Gonna copy and paste this into the beta feedback now!)

Didn't notice this change, it's rather subtle but very nice

I notice this is a news story, on CPS, with blog style comments on it using BBC ID. It's rather nicely done. I wonder if they're planning for something like this to replace speak your branes

Would this not be classed as advertising on the BBC website?
I don't know if it's a mistake or not...? Sorry for the small image. If you can't see it - it's a Travel page (highlighted in red) which is 'powered by Lonely Planet'!
EDIT: Just realised my ISP is registering as Germany so it's the BBCNews.com homepage!

I'm not sure how long the new look DJs page has been active on Radio 1, but it looks much better than the old one:

Looking at the beta website it looks like a few more topics/modules have been added, including a (non-moveable) 'clock' module.
