Looks like a much smaller desk and slightly more dynamic presentation style, which they were moving towards with the last refresh of the set. And probably about the right time to bid farewell to the "office" schtick, which hasn't really matched the style of links for a few years now.
It is a shame that they don't seem to have the money to change it properly, so we're still looking at the bones of the first Salford set in 2011. But not a surprise given how things are these days. Given most children's channels don't bother at all we should be glad in-vision still exists at all.
Really like the logo/idents though, it feels quite modern and animates nicely. Anything is better than the last lot which were quite underwhelming.
We are judging the digital element of the rebrand. Print and onscreen next.
That's all very well but as I said, they might not make sense without their main use. And they do make a lot more sense! So hold your rolly eyes whoever you are
I can imagine everyone hating the new look BBC 1 and 2 logos when they launch if they are in a box and the BBC logo is at the top left instead of the centre. They've done it with BBC 3 and now CBBC (although the BBC 3 version on screen was centred, not aligned to the left but all promotional material had it on the left too).
Imagine that's what they did, designed all the channel logos as Roman Numerals and put them in boxes. I II III and IV.

Yeah, I've never been a fan of the previous look, and it's so nice to say goodbye to the green theme which lasted too long. (there was even a green and red CBBC logo designed but never used a few years before the channels came about)
Incidently I mentioned earlier about how ingrained the Cbeebies branding is, but I notice that the signed programmes on CBBC at the moment have green backgrounds based on the old branding. Not something that's easy to change

Surely it's a square, not a box? Primary school maths lessons taught me that!
By the way if that is the way things are going then I'd have thought that BBC Four's will be fairly easy to predict:
