The News Channel is now back at the Press Conference now that the Ten has ended.

Right now they are not showing the PM's speech, instead news at 10. Some news channel.

Since anyone who receives the BBC News Channel can also receive BBC One, why do they even simulcast the news at 10? Why not air, say, a news-oriented talk show at that time?

Because it's cheaper.

To be fair now Sky is missing that German woman (Merkel) and has gone to ad's.

BBC is showing.

I don't have access to BBC World News, but I am guessing that they are currently simulcasting the News Channel bulletins? Or as this is predominantly a European wide story, are BBC World News running the show?

Yes, there is currently a NC and World simulcast with Jane Hill.

Cheers - have noticed the tell tale "Your watching BBC News" lines

Some of it has seemed very UK focused in details, which you expect on News Channel, but nor normally on World News

As much as the NC has been winding down in recent months with the addition of Victoria Derbyshire and the World News simulcasts, it's so very nice to see it today back at its best with rolling news on the weekend, with a number of reporters and correspondents out and about and plenty of interviews.

Ultimately though everything yesterday was just political posturing from Cameron rather than news because regardless of any deals the referendum was going ahead. The real news is today.

Does anyone know how the LIVE graphic is generated?, is it using the same system as the lower thirds? It seems to be on the feed both world and BBC news take and it shrinks when they show the sidebar graphics as well, there's also an underlying LIVE graphic but it's dark red and dosent have a location with it, has anyone noticed this?

Someone mentioned that the LIVE graphic is either generated when they receive the feed or by the control room that's on air. Surprisingly to me the lower thirds are inserted down the transmission chain.

You say it's surprising but it makes a lot of sense, so the same studio output can have different lower thirds on different outlets, and a clean recording can be easily generated.
