Well that was odd.

Maxine Mawhinney, reading out (well, summarising really) a story off a phone via the BBC News app, with Maxine shrunk to the left and the phone's screen mirrored on the right.

It was all a bit QVC.

I wonder if they meant to show characters getting shot through the head and hitting the ground with bits of brain splattering on the tarmac during Mark Kermode's review of Deadpool. Just as he was pointing out how not "kid-friendly" it is.

Maybe not, but that footage still shouldn't be shown before the watershed.

Its impact is lessened by the lack of sound and the speed in which it happens.
