If World News Today feels the need to play one of those OS shorts without voice overs, they shouldn't torture viewers with a Justin Bieber song.

I'm not sure they should play any of those OS shorts, even on OS.

Just spotted this tweet from Lightwell...

I wonder whether this is another cityscape for BBC World News? Did Lightwell do the ones they currently use?

I kind of hope there's a little more motion in the background just to make it a bit more realistic.

I would find it fascinating if they could make a collage of all the different major world cities landmarks - like the Sydney Opera House, World Trade Center, Big Ben.

Is it just me or due BST ending early BBC World News repeats a first half hour of programming that originally aired at 2100 EDT (0100GMT) at 0000 EDT (0400 GMT) before handing it over to Alpa Patel and Sally Bundock? I recorded both hours and the first Gavin Grey welcomed viewers on public television in America (which last occurs at 2100 EDT). The newscasts are followed by different editions of Hard Talk.

If I recall correctly, before the 1600 EDT (2000 GMT) they aired Tanya Becket's prior show before and after World News America to fill the extra hour.

BST hasn't ended early this year, it always ends on the last Sunday in October. (And the same for Daylight Saving Time in the rest of Europe)

A few years ago it was extended a bit in the US and Canada. We have another week. It also starts two - three weeks earlier here as well.

Yes, you've got the right idea over there Thumbs up , (in my opinion we should keep it all year round, but I live in Southern England, that idea gets problematic as you travel north in the UK)

BBC World News presently showing BBC News with Gavin Esler from Studio E, presumably a simulcast. I guess due to the Breaking News about the Russian air crash.

Hitherto this morning, World was with Maleen Saeed in Studio C.

Again, simulcasting with the News Channel. This time with Shaun Ley. James Coomarasamy standing by in Studio C.

A bit sad to see World News Today reduced to only half an hour a day Monday - Thursday considering it used to be on multiple times a day. And it appears a half-hour edition of Sport Today will follow the single edition of WNT but I believe that might be a mistake. I would like to see it expanded to a full hour again with the first half simulcasted on BBC Four and the last half featuring more news and a few minutes of business (a preview of Business Live) and sports.

It would make sense to replace BBC World News at 18GMT with an extra edition of World News Today.

The SNT Three
Won't it be back to two editions this week now the clocks have changed back in America?
