After catching some of the show on ITV player the refreshed theme has really grown on me, it feels a lot more relaxed and welcoming.
The sofa area also looks much nicer than before especially with the new window frames and extended sofa, although i don't like the new desk as it looks like part of an old caravan but i can see why they changed it, as the desk was too large for the 3 presenters.
I assume they made a few tweaks to make the show flow better, and after watching the 6 and 7 hours were pretty full of news. More than Daybreak v1. I'm hoping they won't change too much more, sadly they didn't give the first format enough time imo. Lets hope this one works, however unlikely.

Having watched through the full programme, the backing music has grown, but the initial motif is too high pitched/wishy washy imo.

I can understand some set changes; the smaller desk to save studio space and allow for better camera angles on the sofa, the larger sofa to allow comfortable seating for guests - however the positioning and rug needs amending so that they don't overhang. It looks as though the sofa now sits more forward than last week given the extra room from the smaller desk.
What I don't understand is the over use of dark wood including between the square tiles to the right of Ben (on the sofa), the new metal sign to the left of the doors at the performance area/weather screen, and possibly the most odd for me in the (what used to be) interview area they've added picture frames containing dark wood tiles with the itv background style frosting over the top - adding nothing but clutter to that area - if anything they look like two small windows looking out to dark wood.

I'm not a fan of the opening from the sofa. The standing isn't bad, but the sofa seemed odd and I can't quite place my finger on it.

I'm definitely not a fan of the new VoiceOver, perculiar decision.

Content wise I do think that some things have improved and they've balanced items well. The regional news changes threw me today especially as there are now only three. I like the headline recap with old backing, I did not like the odd cross to Laura at the screen for 10 seconds with a summary an hour later.

They need to work on their ending. I like that they've brought back a proper close to the programme (I say back, if was only used for the first programme and Scotland decides).

Everything they had for this show, the research, the different presentation. .

What research?

I'm speaking of their conduction of the American shows and trying to learn from them that research.

They're not "renting the studio by the square inch", so I'm not sure why they would want to save any space.

It makes no difference to the viewer, as there always seemed to be vast areas of unused studio floor space even when they had the original ludicrously over-sized US inspired perspex covered 'ego prop'.

TV sofas are not designed to be comfortable and making them larger doesn't improve that aspect.

I wasn't aware they had difficulty with the camera angles in the sofa area. How has that been improved by the new desk?

I'm not sure there were trouble with camera angles, but the camera that was used directly for the presenters was right up at the start of the rostrum leaving very little room behind.

I agree re the studio space it's one of the plausible reasons I could think if to change the desk.

On the shorter sofa the guests were sometimes too close to the presenters who in turn were sat at the edge, it can comfortably seat multiple guests now.

The long shots to camera that were used by Ben & Suzanna would have been tight if possible with the old desk.

To back up DTV's point about changing brands a clip of Suzanna being confused about the term 'beat off' was aired on a channel 4 review show. A talking head on the programme refered to good morning britain as 'whatever that morning programme is called now'.

What I miss most and it's been an episode is the big fanfare at the start. That theme was so powerful and every time I heard it it sounded as though it screamed "Good Morning Britain!" and I loved it. To be honest I wouldn't mind the new bed as long as we could of kept our old theme, I just really don't like the ex-ITV breakfast show inspired theme. I looked back on the comments from GMB's launch in April and the comments were of how good the opening was and just how nice it all looked.

I hope the realise the errors of their mistake and revert back to the old theme and voiceover.

Can I just reiterate I actually like the logo on the desk - even though I am not the biggest fan of the very, small desk which now is different to the one at the sofa which matches the old one.

The changes GMB made are super LOLz! All I can do is laugh. Completely unneeded. Rather than mess with window dressing they should have been worrying about content. So they go through the trouble of the building a distinctive commanding opening and theme, set etc, then they just revert back to the style that hasnt really separated them from what they've done it that past that hasnt worked. Rather than building on what they created, it seems, creatively they've regressed. Odd move, as someone mentioned the BBC Breakfast barely has changed much, should be a clue for these people...consistency. GMB launched format a distinctively different. Oh well.

There is very slight...if you squint the new GMB desk looks like the newer GMA desk. (without the stupid blue wings..) (I hate GMA...tabloid garbage)

I agree.

Why, in an establishing shot of your tweaked set, would you slap your strap over the top of the logo on your new mini-desk?

I presume the new set, which has been colour-coded to Susanna, will get lighter as her tan fades? Very Happy
