This is exactly what I mean. Why did GMB employ her as Political Correspondent then? They didn't give her a trial, unlike Paul Brand who was very good in the role, trialled but then hasn't been seen since Clodagh joined the team.

Presumably, there will be extensive GMB coverage on this tomorrow morning, except, we've got Ben and Kate. GMB have a good team, and are very capable of covering breaking stories like this, but when stories like this happen on a Friday, we don't get the same quality of coverage. It was only last week, there were shootings in Dallas and the team were mentioning it as often as they mentioned they had Rick Astley live on the South Bank. Its time GMB got a reputable, news team, 5-days a week.

I wonder if Ranvir will have a more prominent role tomorrow?

Yes, I didn't realise. I've just checked Radio Times and it looks like:

- Kate Garraway
- Ranvir Singh
- Sean Fletcher

Apart from Ranvir, I don't see how Sean and Kate can cover this hard-hitting news story. Kate needs to be replaced with a journalist either Piers or Susanna.

As much as Kate needs to be replaced she is a journalist, as is Sean.

The attack was the only thing featured in the TOTH, so expect extensive coverage. However, as it happened overnight rather than on air, I wouldn't have thought that Lorraine and Jeremy Kyle will be dropped.

Kate used to be on BBC news 24 and Sky News as well as Meridian news....not qualified enough??

Got to say they're doing a good job this morning and it's almost a blessing Ben is off.

EDIT - Also what are the chances of another "beautiful day" situation when handing over to Lorraine?

Yes the coverage has been good this morning Ranvir in particular is doing a superb job.
