Seems a bit odd to me that they didn't go with the next episode (scheduled for the 27th), but rather one that was (according to Wikipedia) scheduled for January 11th.
Quite common to do that if the episode order doesn't matter so the other episodes are as they appear in listings. I suspect tonights episode will be dropped in around that time when it wouldn't seem so disrespectful to be answering questions about somebody who only died a couple of days ago. The episode may need re-editing sligihtly and this gives them the time to do so.
More subtitling shenanigans - in Toy Story 3 (spoiler alert) Buzz gets set to Spanish mode. His lines are hard-subbed in English, but the switchable subtitles - which are of the spoken Spanish - are covering the English words up. They're usually quite good at avoiding on-screen credits or important visuals.

This isn't a new problem - it happened the last time that the film was on BBC One - I remember a friend moaning about it on Facebook.
Although considering BBC2's recent efforts I wouldn't rule it out. Also considering this years Christmas idents haven't been universally hated do we reckon they'll be used again next year. Wouldn't mind if they were, though it would be nice if they added one or two new ones to the mix along the same theme.
