and apparently another problem in BH - the national forecast after the local news at 2235 was read by the continuity announcer over a slide.

OMG! The weather after the 22:25 regional news didn't work and we got a CA reading out something over a slide that said "Weather" instead.

In Scotland, it looks like Reporting Scotland overran slightly. We were treated to the national weather opening slide (no animation), then Nina Ridge briefly appeared on screen looking slightly confused, then they crashed into the network CA already a good way through reading out the weather out over a slide.

Once this finished, the BBC Scotland CA then read our 'local' coming next slide - and just seemed to pretend that nothing went wrong.

Since when have BBC ONE used video to promote 'up next' programmes on the credit split? Lastnight it was used with the eastenders credits showing tomorrows episode.

Well I've seen it being used on the Pointless credits for the News at 6, but nothing else. However today the credits did show EastEnders.

They did on Friday as well, that was the first time I saw it - and they even said "Next time... Monday" on the text caption

I quite like it. Does anyone know if there is a rebrand coming up for them as this package has seemed to be here forever. And itv did a few minor changed before a rebrand so I was just wondering if this is what BBC are doing.

BBC One has secured a deal for a new presenter to be the face of Saturday nights.

The star will be unveiled by the broadcaster tomorrow

A source told DS: "The new signing will bring their natural Northern charm to BBC One's Saturday night lineup.

"The host has a unique style and look and the BBC are hoping that viewers will fall for his cheeky sense of humour."

The presenter will help launch an exciting new BBC Saturday night project, which will combine comedy, a gameshow format and light entertainment. The show will be aimed at a primetime family audience.

Guess away!
