BBC Two 50th Year Presentation

Perhaps, at the time (October), they were unaware such a version existed, or they used the first version they came by / that was closer to hand.

It's possible that they thought with the programmes being in 4:3 it fit with the strand and was just incorrectly flagged (and so broadcast stretched). Although as the retro idents from the 70s and 80s were recreated in widescreen, this would be strange.

I think they just cocked up.

Most of the pre 1990s idents have been recreated, the current 90s will, maybe someone has mist placed the location of where there holding the main copies? Main office etc...

They look zoomed and cropped to me.

I think there'd be less space above and below the 2 if it was cropped for 16:9.

Its a shame some of the strings have not come back

Don't know if anyone saw BBC2 Wales' first TX of Zapper, this morning at 11:30, but there was a brief but serious picture disturbance at approx 7" in. My SkyBox is generally very stable, so I thought I'd send them a tweet about the possible fault.

Their reply: "...we found a 1 frame problem on the ident which has been corrected. Thx for letting us know as it wasn't noticeable on TX."

NI really are just using everything.

NI showed Excalibur before Flog It, and Catalyst before Pointless.

Like Wave Day, both are stunning to watch!

So nice, and we're now even getting special coloured boxes to match the background. These idents are just dying for a centred logo though... but I'm asking far too much at this point Again, thanks all for making us pres geeks a bit happier for a while.
