Swan is either the most frequently used or I've just been unlucky for each of the three times I've been able to watch TV on holiday.

I hope Wave (Day) turns up on Network.

The ones I always seem to catch when watching BBC2 are dog and the venus fly trap (as well as the cheapo commonwealth games ident) . I have no complaints at all, much better than what we have been accustomed to on the other channels.

I've spotted them all bar paint pot and karba, most do get fair turn but swan really is the most used. With Scotland there only appear on opt outs and I've only seen four used, hopeful more will turn up tonight.

The birthday ident has not appeared since saturday, was that a stop gap mesaure until the other idents where ready?

Is the last network ident the zapper?

I don't think Swan is suitable for heavy use. It looses its impact, which is "ah, a swan and cute little baby 2s". The more abstract ones, like Copper and Powder are more resilient in this respect.

I;m hoping if there is any logic at BBC towers the next ident on BBC two should be: kebab

It wasn't (in Egnland) but I expect their logic was simply different to yours.

Food ident = Food Programme. Why is Paint pot and kebarb so rare?

I doubt the makers of the programme want people to be thinking about kebabs just as it starts hardly sits well with the brand.

Steam and Diary were made in 16:9; you can tell by the fact the idents were reframed rather than zoomed post 1997

I'm confused, overlaid it looks like Steam was zoomed?

Nice to see Network slowly adding to the mix. I've definitely seen Swan the most and Kebab will probably be shown just as rarely as it was first time around, I think there's one version of it that I only ever saw once!

I wonder if some of them were shot in a format that would allow a HD transfer - I guess it would rely on being able to source the originals, were RedBee/Lambie Nairn every likely to have kept the raw footage after the finished product?
