I'm a fan of abstract logo's, but my first impressions (remember, first impressions) are that it's almost a sign of ITV's lack of progress from it's current mess.
Any TV network would have a hard job at matching the effort put into the BBC and Channel 4's corporate logo's, but this just seems like another logo destined for the scrapheap in less than a decade.
Nowhere near as bad as I feared and I'm sure it'll work just fine for the news as presumably they'll be some flexibility in how it can be used. I'm more concerned with how it'll work for ITV2, 3 and 4 - it looks fine on it's own but not so sure how it'll look with a number tagged on.
I quite like it, but not really judging it until I see it on screen next year.
Remember Channel 5's logo? When we first saw that as a static logo no one liked it, then when it was seen in the idents and in other on screen pres, people loved it, hopefully this will happen with ITV as well.
I wonder if at the ITV press thing they showed any videos of any of the new presentation? Haven't seen anything mentioned though.
I'm just glad it's more of a logo and it looks like it'll have a bit more presence than just being slapped over an ident. Do we have a date yet for when it may debut - given ITV's recent history I suspect some random date in the middle of January rather than at New Year.

as bad as I was expecting it to be. Not brilliant, but certainly seems to "click" with what the channel stands for. Like other members, I'm not very sure how it will work for the news and current affairs programming, but I'm willing to give it a chance. Who knows, they might pleasantly surprise us all, particularly if - as mentioned above - it will appear somewhat "differently" on-air.
Indeed. I can't believe ITV have chosen to refer to themselves as "ITV" on-air. The bare-faced cheek! TTTV would be a much better name - it makes more sense, too.
