Main problem with Arial at any weight and/or at any size is it always looks like ass. One point size smaller and it'd be bearable, not so obscenely fugly it makes you weep in hyperbolic pain but enough it doesn't draw attention.

Just the rings on their own would be enough IMO.

I think dropping the word 'London' from the link and keeping the '2012' would be better. At the moment it's now a very big link and has made the search box a bit too small.

Here's a really interesting blog post about the user experience and design of the new Sport site...

I noticed that the main sports page on the beta sub-domain includes the 2012 logo...
...it also highlights the problem of the search box being reduced in size.

I note that they still haven't sorted the Live pages issue.

The BBC Radio 5 Live and 5 Live Sports Extra websites have the first radio pages that have been converted to the new programmes format. Examples:

The Danny Baker Show: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00mjjxr

Cricket: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00cp6mn

The schedule pages also have a new look.

I wouldn't be surprised at some point to see the radio header from http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/ appear at the top of the new programme pages, though for some reason the header on that radio homepage has been shifted down slightly, leaving a gap between it and the main header, which looks a bit untidy to me.

Also you can now personalise the stations that appear on the radio homepage, although it struggles to remember my selection and keeps reverting to the default line-up.

It's pretty poor stuff, they went from a system that worked well to one that has failed several times and has now been replaced with a simple page of text, complete with "please refresh this page for updates". Awful.

Yes, sometime between now and the Olympics.
