F1 will fit into BBC1 early evenings quite easily, although cause less disruption if the BBC would stand up to F1 and stick them on BBC2. The BBC would have a better daytime schedule today if they'd put F1 over on BBC2 and the tennins on BBC1.

Actually . . . the F1 might have to be 'stuck' on BBC Two on a few occasions next year.

The German Grand Prix, which is due to be shown as highlights at 5.30pm approx on BBC One, clashes with the final round of the Open Golf.

But more significantly, the British Grand Prix - live on the BBC - clashes with finals weekend at Wimbledon. The ladies final has been moved to BBC Two on a few occasions before owing to the World Cup, but I'd be surprised if the men's final ended up on Two - even partially.

BBC have confirmed they won't present the group stages of Euro 2012 on location. They will only go there if England or Ireland reach the later stages. Purely cost cutting, but wouldn't it be better to go there rather than present highlights of F1 races on location?

For the Euros and World Cup they tend to have a studio base somewhere in the country but the matches are held all across the country. So for most of those matches they might as well be in Salford.

So the BBC/ITV have the rights then - as so far that hadn't been confirmed.

I doubt the BBC won't need to go there then.

I guess location also plays a factor - there isn't an obvious "view" in Poland or the Ukraine to stick a studio in front of - and even if there was they can green screen.

Has that studio from 2010 ever been reused?

And genuinely shocking news about Gary Speed who was only on Football Focus yesterday. Not sure though if the burst of applause in the minutes silence was a moving sign of emotion and respect or just football fans being so used to the minutes applause now they didn't quite no how to keep stum.

Indeed. Awful news. The game shouldn't have been played in my opinion. Been listening to 5 Live Sport and keeping an eye on Sky Sports News over the last few hours, and there have been some very emotional presenters, commentators and interviewees alike. Very sad indeed.

You would expect Match of the Day 2 to do something appropriate this evening.

Super Sunday started with no opening titles today, straight to Ed Chamberlain at Anfield to pay tribute to Gary Speed.

Elsewhere, the post-race coverage at Interlagos seemed to be working on the assumption that David Coulthard would be back on the BBC next year, which I didn't think had been confirmed.

Robbie Savage has been on the BBC News channel talking in sombre terms about the death of Gary Speed yet he will be on Strictly Come Dancing this evening, which the BBC insist of presenting as if it were live, appearing to be happy and not have a care in the world (unless he is voted out of course).

After numerous losses of picture throughout the F1 coverage this afternoon (including one set of bars with "FOM INSERT CONTENT" written across them during the Forum), the Forum has just fallen completely off air. That's on top of lots of interference on the mics in the Paddock.
