Yellow this morning - whats with the moving outline of the the South West on the screen behind Peter (still its betetr than the sunrays out the bum look they had before) - Nice to see Cardiff and Newport marked on it, very West Country!

No full titles yet, but the 'yellow peril' has arrived in Bristol and the West/Westcountry regions are now subjected to the following:

Looks very nice in the South West. Nice background on the screen aswell.

It's the same background as it always was...either the Tamar or Clifton Bridge, depending on whether you get the East or West version (for the main evening programme, that is).

Oh right, I was on about the one in the screen grabs above.

That is the 'pan-regional' background, where they prefer to insult everyone rather than only part of the region. Wink

EDIT:
That was an unfair comment, it actually looks better than the normal regional background. Shocked

Some caps from the main evening programme (Westcountry version)...they haven't actually changed the clips in the title sequence...so this really does look as though it was designed on the back of a fag packet in the pub one Friday afternoon! Shocked

I still reckon these regional titles were produced by ITV Central. I would have thought the new music would be a different arrangement, so the titles wouldn't match.

These titles, look like they have been made to fit the music exact.

I would think new titles will arrive with the new music.

You might be right there.

They have obviously set a time scale on to launch each region in their new branding, and have knocked up some titles because the new music wasn't ready.

I also reckon, that background on the Westcountry Today bulletin is what the titles might look like.

..and finally Very Happy

The imperceptibly different new titles for "The West Country Tonight" (East version)
(formerly known as ITV West) Shocked

Has The West Country Tonight always had that irritating voiceover at the start? It's worse than the national announcer.

Anyhoo, full coverage of the new look is available at TV Live

Ever since it became the Westcountry Tonight, yes. Westcountry Live never did, but I think The West Tonight used to have a voice-over.
