Has it been confirmed that Carolyn Ashton is one of the presenters of the next series of BP? See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Peter
- not a very reliable source. How many new presenters are there going to be?
CW
There's no mention on the BBC News website or in their press releases, compared to when Andy joined. Therefore I'd be rather dubious as to relying on wikipedia.
Incidentally it looks like this revision has since been reverted to remove it.

Wasn't it an edition of Murder Most Horrid - starring Dawn French as an aging presenter (Bunty?) of a kids show called "Write Away" who felt threatened by a younger more popular presenter.

talking of blue peter - does anyone remember on there 45th anniversary where they showed this drama like based on blue peter? If so what was it called? The only thing about it is I remember someone eneded up covered in blue peter "make" materials and a washing up liquid cap taped over their mouth...

From the last live show, there was a VT which shownt Andy dancing with sillouettes, and he gave the impression that there would be a new male and a new female. I don't think there'd be any need for 4 presenters with them only having two shows nowadays.
It isn't as it was back in the late 90's and early 00's, especially when the CBBC Channel launched in 2002 and they had the 3 main show with spins offs Blue Peter Unleashed and Blue Peter Flies the World. Even though the later two were mainly old VT's they still required VO's, and in the flies the world show they had a mini studio with links between VT's.
Where as nowadays they seem to only have a few films each week.
What do people think will happen with the next series? Does anyone think that they may revert the programme back, or keep it as it was last series?

I think they'll make it absolutely crap, rename it something stupid like 'Yo! Blue Peter', do an awful 50th anniversary programme that spends about 5 minutes on the 1970s before immediately jumping to now, and then they'll axe it at Christmas with the normal excuse of no one watching it anymore, and how kids now go on their computers instead, etc.
Bit pessimistic but I can't see it lasting the decade right now!

Hate to say it, but I agree with you about the axe falling. I get the feeling they are just waiting to reach the 50th... Look on the bright side the new presenters might be good

There is a summer exhibition, but I can't remember where to, part of my mind is telling me Argentina, but I don't know.
Presumebly if they've already got the new presenters then they will have gone on the exhibition too, wouldn't they?
It's very strange that they didn't unveil them before they left. I'm sure in years gone by, when the presenter left before the summer break, the new presenter was revealed the following week before they went away.

Geth and Zoe joked on the last show by asking if they could stay for the expedition, but Andy said it was too late, they were going. Presumably it won't just be Andy going to wherever it is they're off to, he is likely to take the two newbies with him.
I really hope they take the loss of three presenters in 6 months as a wake up call and realise they can't keep producing BP in the same format it was last series.
