WHSmith will be luanching a brand new long-term campaign. As well as a new slogan ("More of what you really want"), they will be introducing the worms. Book Worm, DVD Worm, Card Worm, Magazine Worm and Stationary Worm. It sounds like the last thing you'd want to see. However, I've seen the "making of " sequence and a brief clip and they're actually pretty good. They're made by the same people who brought you spitting image.
The only Xmas advert that doesn't seem to have changed at all is the 1992 Yellow Pages - Girl kisses boy under mistletoe ad.
I'm sure we'll be seeing the delights of Julia Sawalha and Richard E Grant's annoying "Its all been done, Pam" xmas ads soon!
The Hellmans Mayonnaise Christmas jingle has been around since the early 1990's now and I don't think that has changed.
The Coca Cola one has been around for 8 or 9 years now with only 2 versions, the original where it was nothing but the lorries was the best one, I still think it is brilliant, I still have it on Video to this day. Though the end of the jingle got changed a couple of years ago from 'Always Coca Cola' to 'Coca Cola Enjoyyyyyy' which didn't sound right, but it was put back.
Well just in case you were expecting more Prunella Scales and Jane Horricks Tesco ads, don't - they've been axed in favour of these new product on white background type ads. Not sure what's going to happen for Christmas.
Last year Tesco started its Roger Moore ads around mid-November - so not too early.
As a Tesco employee, I can reveal that they are planning to show last years prunella Scales christmas Ad, but with alterations and moderations. prunella scales has lalso made a final ad which is due to be shown next year. Mind you, the way Tesco operates, anything is possible and their plans can change from minute to minute! looking forward to Christmas on the checkouts though! (Not)
Well my Dad worked on last year's Tesco Christmas ads, and the other day he was speaking to the Tesco Marketing Director, who said that they are doing something completely different from that this year. Also didn't know about the final Prunella ad - are you sure that hasn't been shown already? As far as the agency are concerned Tesco have completely finished with that whole series of ads.

I will investigate! you are right about the new ad though. Friday I was told by a boffin in the staff restaurant that no more Prunella Scales ads have been made. the trouble with Tesco's, is no one seems to know their arse from their elbows so different managers tell you different things. So, I am happy to admit that I am prepared to eat humble pie!
Whoop de doo Argos have now started their Christmas campaign which seems too similar to last year's one, same music again.
Though I am enjoying the Boots campaign with Harry Hill, at least they've thought of something better this year. Can't remember last years one but the one in 2002 got annoying with that woman.
I don't know when Morrisons/Safeway will be doing theirs as another new advert has appeared, 'Reason 26' meats from something to Billy Bear.

The very irritating Woolworths Dog and Sheep puppet adverts are driving me insane!! Agh!!
Oh and I'd read about the final "Dotty" Tesco ad in the company newsletter - it has been made but may not be shown, depending on the success of the current minimalist ones. Mind you with Sainsbury's Admits Defeat on the front of the Standard this afternoon, it could mean the ads are doing rather well!!

I think that woman and her bloke featured in last year's campaign, but it was mainly just showing what "fantastic" treats await you for your visit to Boots, set to the tune of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy".
