Will itv actually show any of it live and will channel 4 and/or channel 5

No they won't. They only take "addresses to the nation"

Actually quite possible with the timings they might skip the press conference in favour of an address, which usually are carried more widely. Schedule it for 8pm and it'll almost certainly be carried on ITV as well and possibly C4. I don't think C5 have carried any.

C5 took the first one, well, kinda.

ITV seems to be ahead of all other broadcasters

Edit: I dont think Channel 5 finished it, and cut it off

(Channel 5's news quota for the year exceeded Very Happy )

Funnily enough going back through this thread to find that, I found this.

The EPGs have updated now, news specials 8:30-9:00

Panorama moved to 7:30, Inside Out dropped, 2nd Corrie also dropped, which I’m sure they’ll be glad of.

On the ITV EPG data, it's suffixed by 'Ep 1'! 😕

Accidental prediction there.

That's where a BBC One - 1 channel would have been so useful 😎

Also interesting we were 55 pages in before an announcement of lockdown. Took us 23 days to reach that point as well - BBC News had their first Coronavirus special three weeks before the first lockdown.

Some predictions on that first page that haven't aged particularly well!

Sounds like it will be an address to the nation at 7pm:

Emmerdale's on!

An address to the nation should be at 10pm, given both BBC and ITV have their main news then. Saves faffing with schedule.

Guess that would mean The One Show will be replaced with a news special...what a shame

There are surely obvious reasons why such things wouldn't be done at 10pm, not least that people will have started going to bed. That would involve faffing with a lot of people's "schedules".

7pm works well enough - ITV have the choice whether to take it or not. If it's a short address they'll just squeeze it in. If longer they'll probably extend the Evening News and air Emmerdale at 7.30pm and Corrie at 8pm.

Any later is nonsense - indeed back in the summer I'm sure something was announced post-10pm which became law by the morning which many already in bed may have left the house unaware of.
