I disagree. The ' ' qualifies the fact that her captors (alleged or otherwise) haven't confirmed that she is being held against her will - something that happened in hostage situations in the past.

Until that point, the quotation marks are needed as it's still a figure of speech, instead of a confirmation of the situation.

I've noticed that BBC Breakfast doesn't have a regional news bulletin at 7.55am. Is this because of Covid?

Correct, only at the half hour.

Didn't know Covid was only infectious in the run up to the top of the hour. Very Happy

Predictions as to what time on Monday the 'big reveal' route out of lockdown for England press briefing will be?

The PM has to reveal it to the Commons at 3:30pm first, and then obviously take Qs, so I'm guessing it'll be a post 7pm press briefing, as 5pm seems too early after the Commons statement and debate at 3:30pm, and I doubt they'd crash into the 6pm news hour with a press conference as big as this one has been billed to be.

A news special on BBC 1 at 7pm anchored by Huw Edwards with The One Show and Panorama / regional programmes bumped off?

I imagine most of it will come out tomorrow as usual.

7pm is a good bet but they may schedule for 5pm and run late - they've "crashed" the 6pm newshour before. ITV News have certainly had updates on an ongoing briefing during the Evening News before now.

If he has to announce it in the commons at 3:30, I’d guess it would be a 7pm press conference.

Has the 3:30 time been confirmed, or is that just a guess at this point?

For Monday's, statements would start at the earliest at 3:30pm unless an urgent question is accepted before that so it's most likely at 3:30pm although that won't be confirmed until a few hours before Parliament goes into session.

The full roadmap for England’s route out of lockdown will be finalised on Sunday at a meeting of the government’s Covid strategy committee, with the full cabinet set to rubber-stamp it before it is announced by Johnson in the Commons at about 3.30pm on Monday.
