Sky continuing overnight for USA coverage.

We take these live broadcasts from the US for granted really. I guess they're over fibre rather than satellite nowadays.

Where is the current coverage coming from with Adam boulton? It’s not from the studio out in Washington.

Is it not the same place Kay Burley was presenting from when first broadcasting from the US?

A return to the usual Sky news theme at 11pm. With the TOH using the usual headline straps, however they’re still using the America Decides predictions/results graphics.

Back to the automation at 11pm rather than being run from a standard gallery, I believe.

Sky News is back presenting at the lectern overlooking Capitol Hill where Kay first broadcast from. Shame the election music and titles have now gone. I would go as far to say that the music was better than the Brexit election theme

I agree. Shame they have ditched the election theme and gone back to dull!

They've been using the CAPS straps for locations this morning on Kay's Output, but on Ian King Live just now they're back to lowercase, not sure if that's a mistake or not or a sign we might be going back to more election theme again post Ian King.

The US Election set in Sky Central, including the big screen, has now been dismantled, which is extremely disappointing and premature in my view to be doing that. You'd think we'd want that kind of analysis on the last votes and to go through the story of the election once it's declared..

They've done such a good job with that set, the theme and the music and Ed Conway's analysis etc it seems ridiculous to close it off today when another 24 hours would probably get them to a place where 270 is reached. Is this Comcast effectively tightening the purse strings and saying no?

Shows the folly of the current studio set-up in Sky News, having to hire things in for a few days thad then having to scrimp on how long they hire it for. If only they had a studio with a big screen and didn't have to rent it, you know, like they did for about the majority of the 21st century before the vanity project studios.

Is the main Studio in the US dismantled as well? Have only seen the lectern area today.

Expect to see the area in use again - apparently they've pre-recorded the "winning moment" for the possible outcomes.

Last time I checked they did have a big screen... in Studio 21... and in Studio 6... and in Millbank?

Also, it's a lot more than just keeping up some set for another two days. It was additional floor crew (who will be needed elsewhere on other shows this weekend), kit hired in from various places, an additional gallery (and additional gallery crew and graphics teams). Maybe Ed and Sophy are not available or have booked time off? Likewise in America, that was a whole separate crew (camera, sound, engineering, director/VM) who were either local crew or flown in specially. It's also a commercial facility which they would be paying to use (rather than using the roof of their own / NBC's bureau) with a significant amount of kit required.

It really is a shame that basically everything to do with the election is now gone, especially now that it’s looking like today may be the final day. They must’ve only had everything hired until midnight on Thursday.
Jory and Meridian AM gave kudos
