I noticed in Kay's earlier shot from earlier in the week there was blue lighting towards the bottom of the screens which has now been changed for white.

Have the colour police been called in this week to demand as much as possible is white?

I don't think that the blue lighting fits to the breakfast brand identity.

Does look far more impressive than Sky's recent studio efforts. Surprised they've convinced Kay to do 5 days a week though - nobody else in breakfast TV or indeed 24 hour news seems to.

As for Ian King Live - 10am seems an odd slot. Daytime always seemed an odd slot but now with so many in the city actually working at home I'd have thought a 1pm lunchtime slot might actually work quite well for it.

As we’ve seen over the summer, having Kay’s name in the title doesn’t necessarily means she’s presenting. It could be that she’s doing 4 days with Niall doing the 5th maybe.

I wonder if Sophy Ridge’s show will share its branding too?

The first* in-studio double-header this morning since the pandemic started. With Stephen Dixon and Gillian Joseph both in the studio for their last Friday edition of “Sunrise”.

The directors ensuring appropriate social distancing in the glass box. With each anchor seated at a different face of the square desk.

Pandemic and distancing matters aside, Stephen and Gillian are quite an authentic duo. They’re quite clearly well-paired.

If I’m not mistaken, they are the only double-headed pairing left on British Television News today, right? (National news, not regional).

Notably, Scotland Correspondent James Matthews is currently stationed in Kenosha, USA, covering the unrest in Wisconsin and Illinois. A bit different from Glasgow.


* haven’t seen daytime for a while, so I’m unsure if the Secker/Brazier partnership still exists on a daily basis in the studio.

They’ve not done any double header Sky News Today recently - this mornings @Breakfast is the first double headed programme in a while.

Well only if you're excluding other breakfast shows.

Despite the social distancing, the end result on screen they've achieved today for @Breakfast . . .


Doesn't look too dissimilar to the pre-COVID distancing in Studio 6 for Sunrise . . .

Considering their slot is now down to two hours; and is the only double headed slot (apart from the weekend breakfast show) I do wonder if that may change to single headed.

This week Colin has been doing Sky News Today 2-5; Jayne has been doing Sky News Tonight 7-9.

I thought it was more than 15 years somehow.
