What programme set was directly behind the two cameras?

That news set was not tatty.

A lot of sets are tatty up close. Jan was there, if she says it was tatty, it was.

They have been on YouTube before, but this user has uploaded the full set of BBC World and overnight titles and idents from 2001-2002, taken from the original laserdisc masters.

Excellent quality!

Does anyone know if the globe that appears in the middle of the titles and idents was real or computer generated? The country borders and the edge of the globe appear very crisp, and the lighting effect has a very convincing gradient, which makes me think the globe is real.

Pretty sure it's been covered elswhere (maybe even earlier in this thread?) but they were confirmed to be CGI.

Just saw a name I haven't seen associated with the project before - Nicola Mills was one of the designers on the idents, according to this Vimeo video on her profile: https://vimeo.com/25134950

She might have some insights into the actual production of the idents.

Maybe link to here and Bail's recreation thread. The love and care of his and Martin's mocks recreating her work would be very flattering.

A reminder that Martin's recreation of the World 10 sec countdown and ident are unbelievable.

Don't forget Bail's wonderful remastering here.

Click has uploaded the full first episode of Click Online to YouTube, including titles, but no lower thirds and the end titles do not have credits, so it’s a pretty clean copy.

The show was much more newsy back then.

They've also uploaded what I assume is the first edition of the show that used the previous look.
I hope they continue doing this, it's interesting to see the things that are now considered normal but were rather novel in the past.
